So recently I have been exploring the option of starting my own blog but I honestly felt overwhelmed by the technical aspects and cost of creating a website. I then found my perfect solution, Substack! It’s going to allow me to easily share my random thoughts, ideas and general discussions with anyone who wants to hear them - straight to your email inbox. 😊
If you’re part of the online art world, especially in the crazy (and exciting!) NFT space, you might be struggling with marketing yourself, getting your work out there, and actually getting paid for it. That’s where I come in. I’ve been through the ups and downs of trying to make it in this space, and I want to share my journey with all of you! I am hoping that by sharing my successes and failures, it will give you valuable insights that can help you on your own journey. This is honestly just the beginning, and I’m excited to share more about myself and my experiences in upcoming posts. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, tea (or wine! but not in a mug, lol) and join me on this journey!
So first things first, HI! I’m Sandra, an artist, illustrator and NFT enthusiast based in Toronto, Ontario. Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I pour my heart and soul into every piece that I create. Whether you’re following me on Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok, you’ll notice that my work has a darker edge and explores the shadow self and the macabre.
Honestly, I try my best to make my art as visually appealing to the majority of people as possible, but it’s also deeply meaningful to me, as I really try to explore complex themes and emotions in each piece. It’s not just a hobby or job for me, but a therapeutic practice that allows me to fully immerse myself in my craft. I’m constantly overflowing with ideas and inspiration, and I’m hoping that this platform will hold me accountable to share them with you.
I’m excited to share my unique perspective on the creative process, including topics such as what inspires us to create, experimentation, collaboration, overcoming obstacles as well as creative growth. As a one-person show, I understand the stress that comes with trying to turn your art into a business, and I hope to normalize conversations surrounding self-sabotage and imposter syndrome as well.
So that’s that! I’d love to get to know you, too! Feel free to leave a comment and tell me about yourself, including how you found me, your creative pursuits, and your goals for turning your passion into a business. So thank you for subscribing! I’m grateful to have you along for the ride.
For realsies.
Don’t forget to subscribe! It is free!
